Review: Texas Legato Winery – TX

Official Review by The Traveling Winers

There is not a better way to start your day than spending it with the girls at the Texas Legato Winery!  Alicia, our hostess, and Amanda, the tasting room manager and hostess#2, welcomed us into their cozy, quaint tasting room.  In fact, we learned that Legato means “a gathering of family & friends”, and that is exactly what it felt like.  Nice job, all!

Bill and Sulynn Bledsoe are the owners of the winery which began in 2007.  They currently plant 7 acres and also source additional needed grapes mainly from Texas.  Amanda told us that they are planning an expansion of their cozy winery/tasting room, so this might be something to go experience a before and after wine tasting, don’t you think? 🙂

Two of the fun things they do here are: 1. serve you a plate of crackers, cheese and sausage with your tasting (oh….and chocolate with the port!) and 2. serve your port taste in an oh-so-cute-little port glass!

We recommend that you drop by for a little wine tasting, a little snack, and a little cheer.

We are very confident that you will find it all waiting for you here!

Drop us a note and let us know what you thought of the port glass.  Did it change the taste of the port for you?

Happy Trails!

Subtle excellence in everything they do, from the labels to the unique tasting rituals, to hor d’oeurves laid out for their guest.  Though their wines weren’t some of my favorites, Amanda really helped guide me through each of the wine tastings (though she did not dissuade me from my wine rating  🙂  ).

“This Is The Life” Winer

I had a lovely time with the ladies at Texas Legato Winery!  The atmosphere was very laid back and very personable.  Amanda, the tasting room manager, explained the intent behind the structure of the wines, saying that they are basically a transition wine, in that they are easy on the palate for a taster – not too sweet and not too dry.  Seeing as I am out of the transition stage, the wines, although good, were not “chewy” enough for my liking.  But hey, I bought some nice smelling soap (even made of wine!)!!  Would definitely recommend this stop!

The Winer’s Experience

AMBIANCE GROUNDS & SCENERY TASTING ROOM
“Welcome to my home”, cozy, warm The vineyards were set off a little, but still should provide a very nice view in summer and fall. Small, but comfortable and cozy; would not lend itself to a large group, however, understand there is plenty of space outside when the weather is nice; plenty of wine ‘stuff’ to purchase (including wine soap!)
WINE TASTING EXPERIENCE CUSTOMER SERVICE TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
Above and beyond with the addition of cheese, crackers, sausage, and homemade wine brownies (sorry, adults only!) Exceptional! Really good and enhanced the wine tasting experience.  They shared info on the wines, the history of the winery and the history of the owners.
