This month… it’s the Wine Tourist Magazine!
So, I know that I typically introduce you to a new “physical” wine gadget, but this month I am going to stray just a bit. This gadget isn’t something “physical” that you can use with your wine, but instead is something intangible that you can use to expand your knowledge of wine and the world surrounding wine. So see! They are somewhat related! 🙂
Anyway, you have to check out Wine Tourist Magazine. This is a new electronic magazine that focuses on different aspects of wine and different wine regions around the globe. I find it quite interesting and very educational.
The staff and writers of this magazine are heavily involved in the wine and travel industry, making their articles very relevant, interesting and easy to understand. Here are some examples from the January 2016 issue:
WTM Wine 101 | Grapevine Grafting This article explains the science behind grafting vinifera vines to native-American rootstock and why it changed the world of grape farming.
Off The Beaten Path in Santorini | Santorini | Greece In this piece, Allison Levine introduces some grape varietals that are rather unique to those of us in the United States but are “old timers” in the Greek world of wine. She also provides some insight on a few wineries that you might want to consider visiting if traveling to this part of the world, as well as some back-street restaurants, fantastic beaches and comfortable accommodations. A nice introduction to Santorini and an article that you might want to bookmark in case your travels take you to this picturesque island.
I hope you enjoy this online magazine as much as I do, and I hope that it fills your sponge of a brain with all types of new wine knowledge.
