“Hops ‘r Better” Winer

Wine: 2013 Pinot Grigio
Type: White
Vineyard: Ruffino

Buy local

“I rate this wine 75 in Quini and was really impressed.
Bright appearance, with full aromas. A medium-full-bodied white. The finish is layered. A pinot grigio from Italy.”
“This is the Life” Winer

Wine: 2012 Pinot Noir
Type: Red, dry
Vineyard: Ravines Wine Cellars

Buy local or find it at

A French-style Pinot Noir, delicate and engaging with ripe cherry and plum, sultry spices, and earthy aromas.

The “Timeless” Winer

Wine: Chateau Musar Lebanon Jeune Red 2012
Type: Dry, Red
Vineyard: Chateau Musar (Lebanon)

Buy local or find it at

I picked up this one after tasting another Lebanese wine from the Bekka Valley and, having found that one amazing, thought I would try another.  I have not been disappointed.  This was a beautiful wine with a rich color and soft on the nose.  It is not overbearing on the tongue and went well with the snack of goat cheese, olives and pita bread I was serving.  Absolutely earned a place in my ‘anytime’ wine rack.

The “Hippy” Winer

Wine: Bodegas Volver Organic Tarima 2012
Type: Red, Dry
Vineyard: Bodegas Volver Winery (Spain)

Buy local or find it at

Another organic wine for the Hippy Winer to try, how good is that?  This wine had the loveliest deep purple color.  So dark that it was almost impossible to see the sunlight through it.  The scent of blueberry and raspberry filled my nose and mouth, sweet and yet spicy at the same time.  I even picked up subtle hints of anise.  A lovely long finish.  I definitely have two spaces reserved for this one, for the warm nights when things just ….happen naturally.
