“Bright appearance, with full aromas. A full-bodied White. The finish is layered-complex. An overall excellent Chardonnay from Ravines Wine Cellars in Finger Lakes, New York, USA.

I rated this 90 in Quini, and it’s well worth that number and more… If you’re a Chardonnay bigot or someone that’s looking to taste something interesting and intriguing, then find this at your local liquor store and let me know your thoughts.”

Fresh, crisp aroma and flavors – nicely balanced with citrus, green apple and a touch of vanilla.  Paired nicely with a summer salad laden with goat cheese, cranberries and pecans.

Wine: Siciliana Nero d’Avola 2013
Type: Red, Dry
Vineyard: Siciliana Winery (Sicily, Italy)

Another lovely red, rich in color but not too dark.  Earthy and spicy, with a good strong finish.  We had it with pizza, a bit of steak pizzaiola and some very good friends.  We laughed and drank the bottles dry.  Then we cried and told the lies only good companions can.

Wine: Tuscan Sun Tondo Tondo Sangiovese 2011
Type: Red, Dry
Vineyard: Frances Mayes’s Tuscan Sun (Tuscany, Italy)

Buy local or find it at Wine.com

A fabulous bright ruby red in color. On the tongue, I found hints of summer herbs, cherry and red berries.  We broke open a couple of bottles to go with some aged pecorino, prosciutto ham and some absolutely astounding stories.  Why these people don’t write is beyond me.
