Faces-TomJoeTom Joe
“Hops ‘r Better” Winer

Wine: 2011 Barbera
Type: Red
Vineyard: Araldica Vini Piemontesi Winery

Buy local

“Bright-intense appearance, with full aromas of fruity, black currant and berry. A full-bodied red with fruity, black currant and berry flavors. The finish is layered-complex. An overall good-excellent Barbera from Italy.
The aroma is very dense, you can almost drown it! I love how dry the wine is – very very good. Not sure why I rated it a 74 in Quini but it’s still worth checking out!”
“This is the Life” Winer

Wine: pinotage
Type: Red, dry
Vineyard: MAN Family Wines

Buy local or find it at

This is a wonderful beverage with aromas of mocha chocolate and roasted Coffee beans, and flavors suggesting red berries, vanilla and nutmeg.  Gorgeous ruby colored appearance.

The “Timeless” Winer

Wine: Louis Jadot Pinot Noir 2011
Type: Dry, red
Vineyard: Maison Louis Jadot Winery (Burgundy, France)

Buy local or find it at

Some of my best wine experiences have been with the produce of Louis Jadot and this was no exception.  The color of this beauty reminded me of rubies.  The kind of color that made me say, ‘Oh my, look at this.’  Full of fruit in the nose, it had a fine body and a lovely finish that lingered on the tongue. We shared this bottle (and another) with our favorite family members over cheese, hard bread and plans being laid for our futures when our ship comes in.

The “Hippy” Winer

Wine: Forrest Estate The Doctors’ Sauvignon Blanc 2013
Type: White, Dry
Vineyard: Forrest Estate Winery (New Zealand)

Buy local or find it at

The terrific golden color that glows with the light of late afternoon. Crisp and clean both on the tongue and in the nose.  The taste of passion fruit and fresh herbs fills the mouth with happiness. A fresh salad with kiwi dressing really set this off for us.
