Wine: 2013 Pinot Gris
Type: White
Vineyard: J Vineyards & Winery

“Dull-bright appearance, with full aromas. A medium-bodied white. The finish is subtle-layered. An overall good Pinot Gris from the United States.
I rated this 71 on Quini but still think that this could be a good wine sitting outside on a warm evening.”

Wine: Zinfandel 2012
Type: Red, Dry
Vineyard: Chacewater

This big jammy Zin is packed with strawberry, red cherry, white pepper and laced with smoky vanilla oak. The lush midpalate is fat with berry characters, finishing with expansive fruit, lingering sweet oak and complex ripeness.  Pairs great with that big, juicy grilled steak.”

Wine: Mad Housewife Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
Type: Red, Dry
Vineyard: Mad Housewife Cellars (California)

Good color with plenty of red berry flavors but, ripe cherries dominate.  I saw this bottle and being a scarred veteran of marriage, thought I’d give it a whirl.  I found it to be a very nice, ‘kick off the shoes and watch the world go on without me for a little while’ kind of wine.

Wine: Hawk Crest Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Type: Red, Dry
Vineyard: Hawk Crest Winery (California)

Buy local or find it at Wine.com

A beautiful Cabernet with classic red berries, but also an amazing variety of herbs including chaparral and cedar.  The tannins were there but the wine was very smooth and had a great finish.  A good red meat wine, I think.
