“Hops ‘r Better” Winer

Wine: 2009 Portal Colheita
Type: Red
Vineyard: Duoro Portugal

“Okay, okay – I went for the points here! It’s difficult to pick wines from areas that you are unfamiliar with… so I’ll be the guinea pig and let you know my thoughts when I taste this one. From the label, the varietals are 60% Tinta Roriz, 25% Touriga-Nacional, 15% Touriga-Franca (so I should have a somewhat comparable with the Catedral above). Apparently, this is a good example of a classic Douro wine so this will serve me well for future wines in the region.”
“This is the Life” Winer

Wine: 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon
Type: Red, Dry
Vineyard: Rancho Sisquoc Winery

Buy local or find it at

A hint of tobacco flavor and a “sock in the face” with GREEN BELL PEPPER!

The “Timeless” Winer

Wine: Bouchard Aine & Fils Pays d’Oc Chardonnay 2012
Type: White, Dry
Vineyard: Bouchard Aine & Fils Winery

Buy local or find it at

A beautiful white carrying the scent of white blossoms, exotic fruit, and peach, added to just a touch of oak. It’s delectable on the tongue and well-balanced with a buttery structure and hints of honey and toast.

The “Hippy” Winer

Wine: Castello di Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva 2010
Type: Red, Dry
Vineyard: Castello di Monsanto Winery, Italy

Buy local or find it at

A very robust red wine, with hints of cherry. Vibrant and full of flavor. Highly recommend!
