Wine: 2009 Reserve Syrah
Type: Red
Vineyard: Bridlewood Estate Winery

Buy local

We visited Bridlewood Winery in July 2014 and what a wonderful location and folks here. My wife picked 2 bottles to take with us and I just tasted the Reserve Syrah… and I was immediately taken back to the beautiful grounds and great memories (this is a huge factor in buying wines when visiting wineries – you can transport yourself back and relive the experience!). I’m a very picky drinker but this wine I could drink with any meat or just savor watching TV or working on the computer.

A typical red that is full of flavor, mixed with the lovely aromas of spices and aromatic plants.  It has enormous character. Earthy. It lasts.

Wine: Pieropan Soave 2013
Type: White, Dry
Vineyard: Pieropan Winery

Buy local or find it at Wine.com

My first taste of Soave was at the Pizzaria Venezia in Sohren Germany. The proprietor, Tony Dupre, was known to offer excellent food and great wine. This particular Soave is crisp, pale, with hints of flower – honeysuckle and citrus – lemon. Smooth texture that goes well with light fare.
