Wine: Faithful Hound 2011
Type: Red, Dry
Vineyard: Mulderbosch Winery (South Africa)

Buy local or find it at Wine.com

The color is of rich ruby with the darkness of plum.  The scent of cedar and anise or licorice hit the nose with a lovely subtlety. I found the tannins smoky with only a mild oak flavor.  It went exceedingly well with an intimate dinner of rare prime rib, steamed asparagus and baked potato.  Mmmm.

Wine: Acrobat Pinot Gris 2013
Type: White, Dry
Vineyard: King Estate Winery (Oregon)

Buy local or find it at Wine.com

Excellent color, clean and crisp. The flavors of apple, pear and even melons are evident but none overpowers the others creating a beautiful lasting finish on the tongue. Excellent with an antipasto tray featuring dry cheeses and smoked oysters.
